The Saudi Arabian Cultural Mission (SACM) participated in the 6th International Exhibition & Conference on Higher Education (IECHE) organized in Riyadh during the period from 15th to 18th of April 2015 – under auspices of Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz – and inaugurated by Dr. Azzam Al Dakhil the Saudi Minister of Education.
SACM’s team was headed by Dr. Adbulaziz Bin Taleb the Saudi Cultural Attaché to Australia accompanied by Dr. Abbas Brashi Deputy Cultural Attaché (Cultural & Social Affairs), Mr. Bassam Almohaimeed Director of Public Relations Department, and three Saudi sponsored graduates who studied at Australian universities. The team provided information to visitors about Australian culture, universities and educational system, and also highlighted SACM’s contribution to the cultural, scientific and educational exchange between Saudi Arabia and Australia. Copies of SACM’s publications such as “Legal Guide”; “Education System in Australia”; “A Guide to Studying in Australia”; “SACM’s Initiatives & Development Programs” and “A Guide to Medical Fellowships in Australia” were also distributed to visitors.
SACM’s booth at IECHE 2015 attracted a large turnout of visitors, including Mr. Andrew Robb the Australian Minister for Trade and Investment; H.E. Nabil Mohammed Al Saleh the Saudi Ambassador to Australia, and Dr. Ralph King the Australian Ambassador to Saudi Arabia. A large number of officials, vice-chancellors of Saudi and foreign universities, media representatives, writers, intellectuals and Saudi sponsored graduates also admired SACM’s booth and praised the services provided by SACM to the Saudi sponsored students in Australia.
IECHE 2015 attracted more than 250,000 visitors and 438 participating institutes, including 373 universities across the globe. Twenty eight Australian universities participated in IECHE 2015. University of Sydney, Curtin University and University of Adelaide delivered workshops focused on opportunities at those universities. IECHE 2015 also highlighted scientific, technological and educational prosperity of Saudi Arabia.
Worth mentioning, the International Exhibition & Conference on Higher Education is the biggest event on higher education in the region which is organized annually in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. Participants include Saudi universities; Saudi cultural missions abroad; hundreds of international universities and educational institutions.
